our wonderful staff & caretakers of the glamping site in la fortuna shared us this video of a visitor this morning.
they are a frequent guest at the site! 🦥

did you know sloths only come down from the trees once a week to make a caca? 💩
each descent puts them in incredible danger, but their poops provide a breeding ground for moths that live in the sloths fur. the moths descend with the sloth to lay eggs in their poop.
once the eggs hatch & mature, the adult moths then fly into the trees to find other sloths to live on.

a wonderful symbiotic example of costa ricas rich & balanced diversity 💚
