a lesson from the flower

do you know your veins look like mine?

of course

well how do you know you're just a flower?

i know what i am, do you?

yes! of course i do. i am many things! & i am going to be many things! i'm going to be great & successful & everyone will want to be like me! will you be anything more than a just a flower?

you humans! can you not simply admire me as i am?

you question yourself & punish yourself with your longing.

i promise one day you'll have your answers.

but for now,

try to understand it as i do;

i'm a beautiful flower,

that is part of this beautiful garden.

sometimes i wish i could see myself in the garden because everyone keeps telling me i'm beautiful.

but instead i stand here & get to see all the other beautiful flowers around me, i get to be part of this beautiful garden, however long or short;

& then one day, my stem will weaken, i'll start to wither & my petals will fall to the ground i'll return to the earth, to be part of something else.

but for now,

i am beautiful flower in a beautiful garden.

i have the same veins as you;

& i have no reason to question it.
